Moonlight Ski Party 2012

Saturday, February 4th

Come out and enjoy a Saturday evening of crisp winter air through the scenic, snow-covered woods of Byrncliff!

The evening begins with a hot buffet meal as a group, followed by a guided cross-country ski tour under the full moon to the bonfire at the "R & R" Rest Area. From there, ski as many of our lighted trails as you like until 10:00pm. We recommend the charming Manhatten Lane trail for any skier, or the Swizzler for the thrill-seekers of the group.

5:00pm - Registration
6:00pm - Hot Buffet* includes: Roast Beef, Baked Ham, Rolls, Salad, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Corn, & Dessert
7:00pm - Guided ski tour, trails are open until 10:00pm

*Buffet menu items are subject to change. If party is under 30 people, meal may be served individually. A vegetarian option is available upon request.

Pre-pay prices: $27.00 per person or $39.00 with rental equipment.
Prices include tax and gratuity.

Cancellation policy: If you cancel 24 hours or more in advance, we will refund your money less a $5.00 handling fee. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will not be refunded. If there is no snow and Byrncliff cancels the party, we will gladly refund the full amount.

19th Annual Cardboard Olympics

Theme - "Nascar"

This is a snow or no-snow event.
Proceeds benefit the Varysburg Fire Department and Rescue Squad

To enter the Cardboard Olympics, create a sled out of cardboard, tape, and glue relating to this year's theme. Sleds can be decorated with cardboard cutouts, paint, string, and rope. The name of the sled must be written on the outside of the sled. Sleds will be judged on creativity, construction, and best run. Awards will be given to the 1st and 2nd places in each class and to the overall "Best Theme" and "Furthest Run". NEW - Snowboard Race after sled rally - facest racer wins! Helmets and your own snowboard required.

Ski Orienteering has been Canceled this year due to lack of snow

Sponsored by the Buffalo Orienteering Club

Looking for something to do? Try ski orienteering, a combination of cross country skiing and orienteering. The club will offer instruction and provide maps and compasses for those interested. This event is open to the public and will cost $10 to participate per person. Ski rentals are available for an additional $10 per person.

Byrncliff Hosts the Special Olympics Super Regional Qualifier

Brought here by the New York Special Olympics Genesee Region Show your support and come to watch the races. 40 Athletes, ages 8 years and up, from Jamestown, Olean, Orleans County, Stueben County, Geneseo, & Avon will compete in this Super Regional to qualify for the NY State Games at the end of February.

Registration at 9:00 am
Opening Ceremony: 9:30 am
Competition: 10am - 2pm
Followed by Awards Ceremony
